BACKGROUND:
Ardan was born on Mars to Cearul Bellamy and Marian Acosta. He was an only child. Ardan learned to read Universal Standard when he was 2 years old. He had early exposure to other cultures and species because he often accompanied his parents in their professional workplaces.
His father, Cearul, was a xeno-archaeologist who taught in the University of Mars while his mother, Marian, was an economist studying the effects of trade between multi-species. Ardan was orphaned when he was 8 years old after his parents died in an accident.
His uncle Kovac brought the grief-stricken Ardan to Benbow. The novelty of a new place and people helped Ardan move on from the loss of his parents. In time, his joy and laughter returned.
At times prone to solitude, Ardan was never lonely. He easily found playmates in the children in his neighborhood and school. His precocious nature even charmed customers to his uncle's shop where Ardan was known as "Young Shopkeeper". He learned soft skills like small talk and empathetic reasoning while managing the shop.
Ardan excelled in academic pursuits. His teachers often noticed that Ardan easily grasped the concept taught in the classroom and would often tutor his classmates. He was often found in the library enhancing what he learned in class. Ardan was captain of the water polo team and track team. Under his leadership, both teams thrived and became Benbow Champions.
He was unanimously awarded "Most Likely to Become Captain of Starfleet" during his last year in school.
His affinity for languages and empathy led him to a career in Starfleet where his easygoing nature let him quickly acquire lasting friendships. His schoolmates describe him as someone who is courteous, steadfast, and considerate. He graduated with full honors and is currently serving as Tactical Officer in the USS Aurora Borealis.
NAME ETYMOLOGY: From ardanach meaning “”high aspiration””. Ardan was one of the sons of Usna who helped Deirdre escape to Scotland so that she would not be forced to marry King Conchobhar MacNessa.
