Title: Reality
Medium: film
Fandom: 365dni
Character: Laura Biel
Word Count: 311
Notes: Spoiler warning for the 2nd movie (365 Days: This Day). This is me applying The Green Knight logic to 365 days. Haha. Written for challenge 0905:"Missing Scene" at lands of magic.
The smell of fumes wakes Laura. She doesn't understand what she's seeing at first. Rough diamonds are everywhere and there's a continuous crackling noise. The last thing she remembers is running to Massimo at the spacious church and pain lancing through her belly.
Her chest is tight and she has trouble breathing. Looking down, she sees the belt that's holding her to her seat.
Bang!
She looks around her again and begins to understand. It's not rough diamonds but shattered glass everywhere. The smell of burning rubber makes her cough.
She searches for Olga and can't see her, vaguely remembering that Olga didn't put on her seatbelt when they got into the car.
"Olga...", she whispers.
Bang!
Laura is becoming more aware of the heat from the fire. She struggles to undo the seatbelt and after two tries she manages to unfasten it and fall to the ground. The sudden fall almost knocks the wind out of her but the urgency of the fire prompts her to push herself up and crawl out of the car.
Rounding to the driver's side, she reaches out to wake the driver but sees the bullet hole on his head. Laura gasps.
Holding her side, she frantically searches for Olga. She sees her shopping boxes strewn on the road. It's at her second look around that she understands what she is seeing. Olga is lying on the road beyond the fire.
Laura quickly walks while ignoring the pain in her body. She has to reach her best friend. She touches her friend and screams. Olga's neck is at an odd angle. Her eyes are open and not moving.
"Olga!!!", Laura wails.
Flashes of their friendship run through her mind. Laura realizes that everything that happened before running to Massimo in the church was a dream.
This is reality.
Her best friend is dead.
Notes:
I don't like time jumps so I made it seem that everything that happened in 365 Days This Day was the result of Laura dreaming.
