Jareth gazed into the crystal where Sarah and her friends were celebrating his "defeat". It pleased him to see her happy. A knock on the door signaled the arrival of his seneschal whom he bade enter. With a twist of his fingers, the crystal disappeared.

"Your Highness, I have the reports on the status of the Maze and your Kingdom. The Captain of the Royal Guard says that there are no injuries due to the Runner's actions. Repairs are being made to the Castle and the Kingdom. In a few weeks time, we will be ready for another Runner."

Jareth listened without interruption until the last sentence. He brought his hand up to halt the seneschal's speech.

"There will be no need for that, Hoggle. We have our Champion. Athough Sarah has not deigned to be here with us at the present time, she has defeated the Maze and is due her reward. Do not fret, I am strong enough to guard our lands and my power has not diminished. We will wait for her. This is but a temporary delay to her ascension as Champion of the Labyrinth and Queen of the Goblins."
