Challenge #5

In your own space, promote a canon/talk about a part of canon that you love.

The best part of Star Wars canon sequel trilogy is The Last Jedi. I love that the characters develop in the story (they make mistakes, they learn from these mistakes, they face realizations, they make decisions). I love the humanity that is shown in the characters, from Kylo Ren, Rey, Finn, Poe Dameron, Rose Tico, to Leia Organa and Luke Skywalker. These characters are flawed and have fears. They get disillusioned. But the ending is hopeful. (And it would have been great to see this continued in The Rise of Skywalker).

Some quotes from the movie:

There is only one business in the galaxy that'll get you this rich. War. Selling weapons to the First Order. - Rose Tico

You failed him by thinking his choice was made. It wasn't. There is still conflict in him. If he turned from the dark side, that could shift the tide. - Rey

The greatest teacher, failure is. Luke... we are what they grow beyond. That is the true burden of all masters. - Yoda

Good guys, bad guys... Made-up words. Let's see who formally owns this gorgeous hunk. This guy was an arms dealer. Made his bank selling weapons to the bad guys. Oh, and the good ones. - DJ

I know what I have to do. - Kylo Ren

That's how we're going to win. Not fighting what we hate... but saving what we love. - Rose Tico

No one's ever really gone. - Luke Skywalker

Oh yes, the comparison with the characters in RofJ from the start of the trilogy really shows the growth of the character with everything they had experienced. I loved the journey we went on with them, and the discovery Luke and Leia had of their background and family and everything that entailed and the repercussions of who their father was.

Thank you for sharing.

OMG - this was the most beautiful Star Wars movie, period. The scene when the rebellion use the old jets (??) with the white sand that turns to red is just beautiful. And this move felt like that turning of reintroducing Star Wars to establishing its own canon (if that makes sense). I wish we could have seen Rian Johnson's vision for the RotS.
