Akito has a box she keeps close to herself. It was given by a servant when Akito's father (Akira, the former family head) died. The servant told her that Akira's spirit was inside. Ren (Akito's estranged mother) desperately wants the box. When she finally takes it from Akito, she sees that it is empty. It was empty all along.
