I hope nothing of real value was lost from your laptop. Fonts, after all, are easy to replace. When I got my new laptop 1+ years ago, I decided not to transfer fonts from the old one. I kept a list of them, and uploaded my favourites again, but there were many fonts that I didn't care for anymore and wanted to start building the collection from start.
